History
In the 19th century, the city experienced an architectural renaissance with the construction of numerous aristocratic palaces, becoming the preferred place of residence for the noble class and the rich bourgeoisie of the Papal States.
Among them, the Palazzo dei Cardinali, dating back to the 15th - 16th century, is characterised by typical Roman architecture with its façade, pillars, columns and balustrades.
After restoration, the palace brought to light the ancient frescoed vaults, presumably attributable to the “Arciconfraternita della Madonna del Carmine alle tre cannelle”.
